In August and September of 2022, I created a prototype of an event idea called CONDUIT for the city of Centennial and the Spark Accelerator program. I collect things destined for the landfill and repurpose them for an art installation. Simple, Yes?

I chose the theme “Patron Saint of Impossible Causes” because I read somewhere that Mother Francis Xavier Cabrini was a patron saint of impossible causes and she has strong ties to Colorado and the Denver Metro Area. She is now celebrated in Colorado on the 1st Monday in October as of 2020. That timing also kinda worked for the prototyping phase of the accelerator program

We made oversized fabric beads, oversized flowers from plastic containers, straws, drawings on bubble wrap that became flowers. I created a patron figure out of miscellaneous lamp parts. Fake candles from cardboard tubes, duct tape and push lights.
